Dance of Triggers
Mirror mirror on the wall
Who's the biggest twat of all?
Is it me? Who blindly lobs
Judgy thoughts
At all the knobs
Or is it them? For falling short
Of expectations finely wrought
When moralising in my mind
and smugly searching
Their faults I find
And off we skip, in self-deceit
Twirling to our Ego's beat
Pumping out disharmony
to blaring sounds
of 'You vs me'
And as we waltz this dance of triggers
The gulf between us just gets bigger
But maybe you are just reflecting
Illuminating my projecting
What if outside comes from within?
The light, the dark, everything
Then our meeting becomes a greeting
A chance to see with clarity
My persistent resistance
To the shadows inside
From which
I hide
So thank you friend, you're heaven sent
A gift of Grace for my ascent
No more black, no more white
No more wrong and no more right
No more you and no more me, only us in symmetry
And together we dance in Unity
☯️
P.S. Lesson learnt, but I have to admit
With deepest love, you're still a twit 🤣
